Miloslav Khadilkar

Miloslav "Milo" Khadilkar is Senior Counsel with Andrews • Lagasse • Branch & Bell LLP and brings with him over twenty-five years of comprehensive litigation experience. Mr. Khadilkar has represented clients in a variety of complex matters involving major construction defect, delay and accident claims, wrongful death and catastrophic injury, products liability, premises liability, toxic torts, professional liability, business and corporate litigation, real property litigation, trucking, federal civil rights, and the defense of counties, municipalities, school districts, and other public entities. Mr. Khadilkar has tried cases to jury verdict and handled hundreds of arbitrations and mediations. Practicing in southern California for his first ten years, Mr. Khadilkar defended public entities like the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and later transitioned to construction litigation.

Following his move to northern California, Mr. Khadilkar has litigated other significant cases including defending an engineering contractor against the City and County of San Francisco in the consolidated San Francisco pipeline matters, defending a general contractor in a construction accident matter stemming from the expansion of the Oakland International Airport, and defending a steel fabricator against a multi-national general contractor in a matter arising from the seismic retrofit of the Golden Gate Bridge. Mr. Khadilkar has also handled transportation matters and was successful in defeating a trucking wrongful death case with $11 million in alleged damages applying new and unique law in a motion for summary judgment. He has also successfully defended design professionals in a variety of matters at trial and in binding arbitration.

Mr. Khadilkar's educational background is as varied as the cases he has litigated. A triple major, he simultaneously received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cell Physiology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Mr. Khadilkar was also an honors researcher in neuro-psychopharmacology evaluating the physiological and psychological effects of prospective anti-psychotic medications. As an honors researcher in marine biology, he investigated new ways of measuring beach erosion and the use of the Pacific sand crab as a biological indicator of ocean pollution levels. A Dean's List student, Mr. Khadilkar is a life member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology and was a participant in the International Neuroscience Conference in Washington. D.C.

A recipient of a Dean's Merit Scholarship, Mr. Khadilkar received his Juris Doctor degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law. In addition, he has also been a licensed California real estate broker since 1992 and has litigated real estate matters including alleged real estate broker malpractice.

Mr. Khadilkar is admitted to practice before all the courts of the State of California and the United States District Court (Northern and Central Districts) as well as the Blue Lake Rancheria Tribal Court. He is also a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association.
